Resources

Every month our Foundational Family team will highlight a resource of the month. Check back often to find out what our latest recommendations are.

About Our Resources

Every month our Foundational Family team will highlight a resource of the month. Our resource may be a book, a video, blog post, or anything that creates a conversation around parenting. Our goal is to be sharing resources that will assist you during your parenting journey. We will be discussing them on our facebook page, so if you haven’t already, join here.

Our Resource of the Month

Session 1 is about Sabbath The BEMA program is an attempt to recapture a few of the elements that were present in the early church. It is not our desire to recreate an ancient world, but to learn from its successes and implement something vibrant into the culture of today.

Apps

Calm

A subscription-based app that promotes relaxation through meditations, sleep stories, nature images, and sounds. The guided meditations give users choices in topic (calming anxiety, deep sleep, forgiveness, gratitude, and more), length of time (from three to 25 minutes), and nature scenes.

Virtual Hope Box

Helps users access immediate reminders of hope in moments of stress. Created by the National Center for Telehealth & Technology, an organization that supports the use of tech for “psychological health and traumatic brain injury recovery in the military,” users can upload personally meaningful photos, videos, songs, and quotes. They can also choose puzzles, relaxation exercises and guided meditations, and “coping tools” (self-created cards, activity planning alarms, and a phone contact list) in the app to consolidate many resources in one app.

Websites

The goal is to impact 10,000,000 lives. Kindness, mindfulness, and all the other tools we can use are not just niceties – they are key to bringing out the best in us, and our society.
